2023 Porsche Macan EV

With the launch and success of Porsche’s Electric and Hybrid lineup, they have continued to expand with more models. The latest model announced is a fully electric Porsche Macan, which Porsche has been road testing for the past several months. Porsche is scheduled for the release of the all-electric Porsche Macan for 2023. Here at Porsche Englewood, we’re excited about this new fully-electric model, and we’re sure you’ll be excited too once you see what’s in store. The Macan EV comes with fast charging capabilities, significantly more range, improved thermodynamics, a lower roofline, and two battery pack sizes. In this article, we’ve compiled the new and exciting features of the Macan EV. Continue reading to learn more about this newest all-electric vehicle from Porsche.

Enhanced, Fully-Electric Performance

The Macan EV will be the first Porsche model based on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which is based on Taycan’s J1 platform. The PPE architecture provides the physical flexibility necessary when high-riding SUVs and low-riding GTs use the same hardware. Despite using the same PPE architecture as the Taycan, the all-electric Macan won’t be a coupe – SUV to allow for everyday usability. The four-wheel-drive EV borrows the 800-volt architecture from Taycan to allow for fast and efficient charging at 270 kilowatts.

Fully Electric Porsche Macan

Sportiest Porsche Macan Ever

The new Macan EV keeps the DNA from previous models and is engineered to be the segment’s sportiest model. By sharing Taycan’s PPE architecture, the new Macan hits 0 – 62 mph in under 3 seconds. The most powerful versions will offer about 700bhp and 750lb-ft. The electronic controls on the wheels and the motors will deliver a high degree of precision. That will allow for exceptional on-road handling for the Macan EV while allowing for effective off-road capabilities. The new Macan EV will sport a different look and have no common body structure with the current standard model. The EV will come with slimmer headlights and ditches the traditional grille. With no need for an upfront powertrain, the electric Macan will have a lower nose as well.

The New Macan EV Interior

The transition to an all-electric power train is readily apparent in the new Macan EV’s interior. Gone is the conventional gear shifter to create a smooth, less cluttered center console that features a small rotary knob and a touchscreen for climate control. The new Macan cockpit features a curved gauge cluster to house the PCM 6.0 communications system, including a large central infotainment screen. We expect to also see exclusive color options, finish options, and badging in the interior, but no such details have been officially announced.
