What Is J.D. Power’s APEAL Award?

J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Award evaluates and ranks a car based on the customer’s level of excitement and emotional attachment in the following categories measured on a 1,000-point scale index score:

• Driving experience
• Powertrain
• Features, controls, and displays
• Driver assistance systems
• Climate control
• Interior condition
• Exterior condition
• Seat design and comfort
• Infotainment technology

Porsche grossed 888 points on the 1,000-point scale, compared to the 872 for the premium brand average. The scores were generated from more than 84,000 new 2022 model-year vehicle buyers or leasers who took a survey after 90 days of ownership.
