Porsche Officially Opens eFuels Plant in Chile

As the world becomes environmentally conscious and aware of the negative impacts of fossil fuel on our ecosystem, automakers have taken new approaches to produce CO2-neutral running vehicles. Porsche has led this transition and is not about to relinquish this position. After announcing its intention to create an eFuel plant in Chile in December 2020, the German automaker turned that dream into a reality. Porsche executives officially opened this project towards the end of 2020, and Porsche Englewood has followed this development with great interest since Porsche announced the initiative. The Grand Opening of The Plant & What it Means

The eFuel project brings several players into a partnership that aims to address the growing concern about global warming and climate change. The main players include Porsche, its international partners, and the Highly Innovative Fuels company based in Chile. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions by producing nearly CO2-neutral fuels. This effort aligns with the ongoing global campaign to stop climate change and protect the future of the growing and coming generations. In the presence of Diego Pardow, the Chilean Energy Minister, Porsche Executive Board members officially opened the Haru Oni plant on 20th December 2022. The senior officials ceremonially fueled Porsche 911 with the newly produced synthetic fuel to mark the official opening of this production facility.

The Start of the Production of Synthetic Fuels

After the official opening of the program, Porsche estimates that the plant will produce 130,000 liters annually. The company will use this fuel for lighthouse projects, including powering the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. However, the automaker intends to expand this project to produce 55 million liters annually by 2025. Two years later, the company will also scale the project to produce 550 million liters annually. You can bet on Porsche Englewood to be among the first outlets to test this synthetic fuel when it enters the market. The ever-increasing carbon footprint and the growing evidence of climate change are low points for most people, especially young individuals. Porsche understands this concern, and its focus promises a better future for all. From hybrid to electric Porsche models, the German Automaker is defining what constituent clean and sustainable transport means. And with eFuel finding its way into the market, the future has never been brighter.

Porsche Englewood is Proud to Be Part of the Future

Although the new eFuel will take years before it becomes available for Porsche consumers, Porsche Englewood offers a wide selection of hybrid and fully-electric Porsche vehicles for its environmentally conscious clients.
